Your
Alumni Europae
network would like to warmly welcome you! With more than 3,000 Alumni waiting for you scattered mainly over Europe, in a plethora of university studies and professional activities, all of them, or most of them, are similar to one another and are willing to expand their network and share ideas. Small details, stories and anecdotes? Absolutely not. It is remarkable to see the ease with which communication is made “amongst us”. Why? Probably because we share common values thanks to an identical curriculum that we have all followed in the 25 European Schools along the long path which led us (eventually) to the famous European Baccalaureate.
Our network, your network even, is present in large European university towns (including the UK) and our local “ambassadors” will be your first point of contact when you start your studies there. Furthermore, we are happy to announce that from the beginning of the academic year, we will have a new IT platform which will make networking easier, and you will be able to post small adds such as flat hunting or job searching. We have called this our “market place”: so you can find who is looking for what and where? Needless to say this will be free of charge.
Of course, we have bigger ambitions and objectives: keep our connections linked to our school life, find out who lives where, help one another and also promote the European project. All of this will now be easier thanks to this network, which you are now part of. But what seems to be a given, even common, for example, European integration, is questioned today. Without mentioning the objective of a true European Union, rights such as residency in Europe is put into question. Let’s not even start about diploma recognition as the UK gets ready to leave us.
I’ve always been pleasantly surprised on how easy it is to talk with and amongst Alumni that have only just met for the first time. One could see this phenomenon as an extraordinary time saver, so we can get on with discussing subjects that really interest us. I therefore cordially invite you to join our network which is quickly expanding with its Bacheliers from the current 25 European Schools.
