God Save the Queen,
Who would have imagined this short prayer to be so unfortunately appropriate in summer 2016 ? Imagine the Queen, considering the map of her Kingdom and wondering what will last, which one of her countries will stay with her or simply say farewell. The obvious advantage for her: Her summer residence most probably will be closer to Buckingham. And what about her subjects ? Finished with the Northern Irish subjects, good bye to her Scots and is Wales really sure? What the hell will she say to her still Prime Minister David? Will she remember him that he had no “plan B”? And Nigel Farage ? At least his rude education shows a good instinct to disappear before things get serious. Boris, our school fellow, will realise the quality of trust in political life. Will he come back to Brussels and correct some of his articles and clean up the lies he wrote ? Will David, Nigel and Boris admit that all this was a very bad game, a grotesque political joke at the expense of the poor guy on the street trusting in democracy? Who of these three will have the courage to say that no one had the slightest idea what all this means. That not one of them really, or seriously, would have bet to see Brexit as the “winner” ? Will Her Majesty require an investigation of the psychological quality of the House of the Very Commons? Imagine one second this country without the Bank of England, the only one thinking beyond its nose. The only one to have had a plan B. Could this be a crisis like in the dark days of Oliver Cromwell cutting his country in pieces. And let’s sadly blame the young voters with a presence of only 30% at the polls trusting the bad issue will not win. But 75 % of the elder population stood up and is cutting the youth from its future. Your Majesty, this is not a glorious day. Not for you, not for the throne, not for your subjects. Did you know, that “EU” was the most klicked reference on Google in UK after the referendum? It seems that no one of your subjects knew what was at stake.
